Gypsy Is Coming To Chatham

Last updated on: Published by: John Bishop 0

Gypsy the 1959 musical with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurentsis is loosely based on the 1957 memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous striptease artist, which focuses on her mother, Rose, whose name has become synonymous with “the ultimate show business mother.” It follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise her two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. The character of Louise is based on Lee, and the character of June is based on Lee’s sister, the actress June Havoc.

Three Towns Theatre Company will be performing Gypsy from the 9th November to 11th November 2017 at The Brook Theatre in Chatham, Kent.  Tickets for Gypsy are now on sale at the online box office.  The cast have been working hard during rehearsals and look forward to performing to a full house each night.  So it’s best to book your tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Once Upon A Neverland – The Brook Theatre, Chatham

Three Towns have has been busy during the last couple of months. No one can forget Hello Dolly! Rehearsals were a lot of fun and we had a great show week.

I have to admit that I couldn’t connect with Hello Dolly! in the early days of rehearsals, but took part to support our great company. Little did I know that Cornelius would grow on me as would the show and I’m so glad I was involved.  We also got to work alongside some regular and new faces, all who made us laugh, gave us memorable moments and are now part of our Three Towns family.

Rehearsals for Once Upon A Neverland are now in full swing and we would like to welcome the children to our cast and don’t forget Mums, Dads, Grandparents, families and friends, you can all come and see your children at The Brook Theatre next April. We know they’ll love to see you there! Yes, the magical dust has taken hold of our cast and it’s great to see so many people getting involved and bringing their characters to life. For those of you who don’t know, Sam has written this show and along with the production team, cast and some animation, Once Upon A Neverland is going to be an amazing show for all the family, big kids and small!

Tickets are now on sale so I suggest to book earlier to avoid disappointment, as I predict we will have a sell out!  You can book them now at Medway Tickets Live or call the booking office on 01634 338 338.

As always, Three Towns don’t just do stage shows as this weekend, we have been involved in singing at the Dickensian Christmas event in Rochester. Thank you to Debbie and all who have been involved in giving up their weekend to support our local community and Three Towns.
